Nox Genius Attack 12K Alum Xtrem Agustín Tapia 2027

What to expect

On paper this is a racket for advanced attackers who finish points overhead and have the technique to control a high balance and a hard core. Players who want spin, placement and a forgiving feel should look at the teardrop Genius models instead. The firm core will likely be tough on sore elbows.

The Nox Genius Attack 12K Alum Xtrem 2027 is the attacking diamond in Agustín Tapia's new Genius family, which replaces the AT10 name this season. Nox makes five Genius models for 2027: three teardrops for players who want control and two Attack diamonds for players who want to end points. This 12K version is the one retailers place at the top for aggression.

The specs point one way: a diamond head, a high balance and a hard multilayer core, at around 360 to 375g. Retailer listings give a weight range, not one figure, and the stored weight of a single unit may differ. Expect a racket for advanced players who hit hard overhead and accept less help on defence.

What the Brand Says

Nox builds the face from 12K Alum Xtrem carbon, a 12K weave with an aluminium-treated finish, over an MLD Black EVA core in several layers. The surface is Dual Spin, a 3D texture with a sandblasted finish that Nox says improves grip on the ball for spin.

The handle holds the Weight Balance system: steel weights of 2g and 4g that you can change without tools, up to 8g in total, to move the balance. Nox also fits a Vibration Control System, an elastomer inside the handle, and claims it cuts vibration by 60% against its earlier system. The grip is about 30mm longer than standard, for two-handed backhands and extra reach. Retailer PadelShop calls it the most attacking Tapia racket in the range and advises players with elbow problems to choose a softer model.

Early coverage: RacketshopTV published a range overview of all five Genius 2027 rackets, and RacketspecialistenTV tested the five models on court in a Swedish comparison. Both are range videos, not dedicated reviews of this model.

How It Compares

On paper, against the AT10 Genius Attack 12K Alum Xtrem 2026, the recipe stays close: diamond, 12K Alum face, hard feel, high balance. The new parts are the Genius name, the adjustable handle weights and the longer grip. Against the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027 teardrop, the Attack trades a more central balance and easier control for more head weight and output. Players who want to place and spin the ball should start with the teardrop; players who finish points from the net should start here.
