Tecnifibre Bomba Soft 2026

What to expect

On paper, the Bomba Soft suits intermediate players who want to attack from a diamond shape without a stiff, demanding frame. The soft core and fiberglass face point to comfort and an easier ball exit on slower swings. Players who want a firm, head-heavy finisher should look at the Bomba Max or Speed instead.

The Bomba Soft is part of Tecnifibre's new Bomba line for 2026, the brand's range of diamond-shaped rackets for players who like to finish points. Tecnifibre presented the line at RacquetX 2026 as four models: the Max with 18K carbon, the Speed with 3K carbon, and the Soft and Light with fiberglass faces. The Soft sits third in that order, at around 355 grams with an even balance.

What makes it unusual is the build. Diamond rackets are normally stiff, heavy and head-heavy. The Bomba Soft keeps the diamond head but pairs it with a soft single-piece foam core and a fiberglass face, which points to a comfortable, easier racket for intermediate players. Retailers list the weight at 355 grams with a 10 gram tolerance, so the exact weight of your racket can vary.

What the Brand Says

Tecnifibre says the Bomba head is 7 cm² larger than its Curva rackets and that its own TecniLab tests show about 5% more ball speed. The brand describes the soft foam core as a way to absorb shocks, limit vibration and give more forgiveness on off-centre hits. It says the fiberglass face deforms gradually on impact for a softer feel.

The other claimed technologies are shared across the line. X-Speed perforations and air channels are meant to cut drag and speed up the swing. X-Top puts aramid fibres in the frame between 4 and 8 o'clock. The Rough Skin 3D surface is sandblasted for grip and spin, and the holes grow larger towards the edge of the face, which Tecnifibre says adds forgiveness away from the centre.

Hands-on coverage is thin so far. In a range test of all four Bomba models, Aladdin from Total Padel found the Soft clearly easier to swing, especially in defence, and said his arm felt more relaxed during play. In an interview with Padel Smash TV, Tecnifibre's padel product director called the Soft and Light the more comfortable, easier models of the range and put the Soft at around 200 euros.

How It Compares

The Bomba line is new, so there is no previous Bomba Soft to compare. On paper, the closest sibling is the Bomba Speed 2026: about 5 grams heavier at 360 grams, with a 3K carbon face that should give a firmer, more direct response and more power on flat smashes. The Bomba Light drops to around 345 grams with a similar fiberglass build, so it should be quicker still but with less mass behind the ball. Within Tecnifibre's own range, the Curva Soft 2025 is the softer option with a different head shape for players who value control over finishing.
