StarVie Triton Pro Touch 20258.1

Conclusion

Gets the ball moving from the back with far less effort than the Triton Pro, and still finishes at the net. Best for attacking intermediates and advanced left-side players who find the Pro too hard; beginners and control players should look elsewhere. The livelier core costs some precision at full pace.

The StarVie Triton Pro Touch 2025 is the new middle model in StarVie's power line. For 2025 the Spanish brand kept one Triton frame and offered it with three different cores: the hard Pro 50 in the Triton Pro, the soft EVA Soft 30 in the Triton Soft and, new this year, the medium-hard Pro Touch rubber in this model. The Ultra Speed version from earlier seasons was dropped.

Everything else is classic Triton: a teardrop head with a high balance, two layers of 3K carbon on the faces, the textured Full Plane Effect surface for spin, and a grip one centimetre longer than usual with StarVie's Noene damping underneath. Reviewers' samples weighed 362g to 368g, so it is not heavy on the scale, but the balance point, measured at 26.7 to 28 cm, makes it feel head-heavy. List price is about €285, and it often sold for €230 to €255. It is made in Spain.

The idea behind the Pro Touch is simple: keep most of the Triton Pro's punch, but make it easier to play from the back of the court. For 2026, StarVie positions the Triton+ Balance as its successor.

What the Reviewers Say

What the reviewers say

Three detailed reviews, one Spanish and two Italian, agree on the main point: this is the most accessible Triton so far, and it gives up less power than you would expect.

Padel Review opened their test by calling it "the easiest, most enjoyable and most fun Triton I've ever tested." The defence surprised them most. The ball comes off the face so readily that a lob under pressure still gets over, which they said rarely happened with the Triton Pro. The catch is control at high pace: several of their víboras flew into the back glass, and they warned that a full swing can send the ball long. They placed it with intermediate players, mainly on the left, but also for an attacking right-side player.

Fabio Ferro described the gap StarVie needed to fill: "the Triton Pro is too much for many players, and the Triton Soft is too little for just as many." His sample weighed 368g with a 27.8 cm balance, yet it moved better in the air than the Pro, with a sweet spot that works well in the middle and upper part of the face. His highest marks went to volleys, balls off the wall and the kick smash, and he called it one of the best rackets of the year for the víbora.

el4Set tested all three 2025 Tritons side by side. The Pro Touch won his defence test, because it gave more help than the Pro 50 and kept more control than the Soft 30. In his smash test, ten smashes per racket with the average distance measured, it tied with the Pro. His verdict: "if you are already an attacking player but want the racket to help you a little in defence, on bandejas and on the smash, the Pro Touch is perfect." It is the one he would buy himself.

They disagree on spin and grip. Padel Review and Fabio Ferro rated the textured face highly for spin, while el4Set wanted more roughness and felt new balls could slip on the víbora. Both Italian reviewers found the grip too thin, and Padel Review's tester had it slip in his hand at the net, so they advise an overgrip. el4Set, by contrast, liked the long, thin handle and round end cap.

How it plays..

Our take: Kaj's summary

The Pro Touch is the first Triton an improving player can realistically use. The reviewers agree that the core gives easy ball exit from the back and a sweet spot that is kinder than the Pro's, and that matters most on the balls you do not hit cleanly. It is still a high-balance teardrop, though, and the extra pop means the ball can fly long when you swing hard. It suits a player who already attacks and wants some help in defence, not someone who still needs the racket to do the work.

Defense

Back of the court

This is where the Pro Touch differs most from other Tritons. The core gives the ball enough exit that lobs and resets still travel deep under pressure, and el4Set rated it the best of the three 2025 Tritons in defence. The sweet spot sits higher on the face than on a round racket, so low balls off the glass still need clean contact. At high pace the ball can get away from you, which is the price of the livelier core.

Attack

On the attack

Power is close to the Triton Pro. In el4Set's smash test the two tied on distance, and Fabio Ferro rated the kick smash and flat smash among its best shots. The difference is effort: the Pro Touch gets the ball moving without the refined technique the Pro 50 core asks for, and the long grip adds leverage overhead. The trade-off is precision. The livelier response can push full-power víboras and smashes long, so it pays to dose the swing.

Netplay

At the net

Volleys are firm and fast with plenty of feel from the double 3K carbon faces. Padel Review found it easy to hit deep, spinning volleys with a short backswing, and to disguise whether a ball comes slow or fast. The víbora is a highlight for most testers. The thin grip is the one practical issue: if your hands sweat or you often reach wide, add an overgrip.

Our Advice for New Players

Not a first racket. The high balance, medium-hard core and price make a round, even-balanced racket a much better choice while you learn the basics.

Our Advice for Intermediate Players

This is the Triton for strong intermediates. If you already play an attacking game on the left, or attack from the right, and want a power racket that still helps you defend, it is one of the easier teardrops in this class. If you still rely on the racket for consistency, choose something rounder and more forgiving first.

Competitive level

A good fit for advanced attackers who find the Triton Pro too hard or tiring, for example in cold weather or long matches. Compared with the Pro you give up a little outright power and precision, and you gain comfort, easier ball exit and a more usable defence.

How It Compares

How it compares

Against the StarVie Triton Pro 2025: same frame and faces, but the hard Pro 50 core. The Pro gives maximum precision and power to players with excellent technique and strength, and helps very little in defence. Pick the Pro Touch unless you already play the Pro comfortably.

Against the StarVie Triton Soft 2025: the softest version, with the most comfort and ball exit. It suits players who want to start attacking but need clear help in defence. Reviewers found it harder to control at high pace and less solid at the net than the Pro Touch.

Same frame and faces. The Pro Touch uses a medium-hard Pro Touch core instead of the hard Pro 50, so it is easier from the back with slightly less precision.
