Nox AT2 Genius Limited Edition 20248.5

Conclusion

The AT2 LTD 2024 is fastest and most convincing at the net, with enough ball exit from the back to keep defence comfortable. It suits advanced players who find the 18K Alum too bouncy and the 12K too stiff. Players who live off heavy víboras should note that the glossier centre can let a new ball slide, and the light head asks for a full swing to finish smashes.

The AT2 Genius Limited Edition 2024 is the special-run version of Agustín Tapia's AT10 teardrop, made in 5,000 units and sold in a box with spare wristbands, overgrips and a keychain. Under the holographic cosmetics it is a real third option in the 2024 AT10 family, not only a collector's piece.

Nox placed it between the two regular models: firmer than the 18K Alum, softer than the 12K. The new MLD Black EVA core and the side holes in the heart are shared with the rest of the 2024 line. What is different is the face finish, with a glossy 3D pattern in the centre and a sandy, matte rough on the outside.

What the Reviewers Say

The sources agree on where the racket fits. Nox itself says it is "halfway between the 18K Alum and the 12K in terms of stiffness" and aims it at players who want more control than the 18K without going to a stiffer racket.

Dani 13 measured a test unit at about 357g without strap and around 257mm balance, and found it moves very quickly on court. He calls it "the perfect balance between the 18K and the 12K": drier than the 18K Alum, but with a small rebound effect at fast pace that the 12K does not give. He found the sweet spot larger than in the 2023 versions.

He also points out two limits. With a new ball, the glossy centre let the ball slide on hard víboras, so it was harder to put spin on it, and the low head weight made his overhead swing come out flatter. Power on smashes was still enough for a player with good technique, a little below the 12K on flat finishes.

Padel Reference lists it as a versatile teardrop for advanced to expert players, with control and handling as its highest marks.

Defense

From the back the racket is easy to move on difficult balls, and the ball comes out with little effort at medium and slow pace. It is firm, but not demanding in defence.

The net is its best zone. Fast hands, quick changes of direction and good control on volleys at slow pace, with enough response to attack when the ball comes faster.

Attack

Overheads are fast to prepare and do not tire the arm. The trade-off is a lighter head: víboras come out straighter and smashes need a full swing. Players who finish with flat power will get a little more from the 12K.

Our take: Christoph's summary

This is the most complete of the 2024 AT10 rackets for an all-court game, and the net play is the reason to buy it. Right-side players who close points with a hard, committed overhead should test it first: the light head and slick centre ask for more swing than the 12K to get the same finish.
