Head Radical Team 20268

Conclusion

Off-centre hits still travel deep and the soft face stays easy on the arm, which keeps developing players in long rallies. Buy it if you are a beginner or intermediate who builds points with placement. Fast swingers who finish overhead should skip it, because it adds little pace on the smash.

The Head Radical Team 2026 is the comfort model in Head's control-focused Radical line. It sits below the Radical Pro and Radical Motion and above the lighter Radical Team Light. Where the Pro and Motion use a double carbon face, the Team keeps fiberglass over Head's Control Foam, so the ball comes off softer and a slower swing still finds depth. At around 360 g with a low balance, it moves quickly in defence and at the net.

For 2026, Head enlarged the foam area in the frame to give more tolerance on off-centre hits. The update also brings a new hole pattern, the Soft Butt Cap+ with a replaceable wrist strap, and a new orange design. Street prices run from about €100 to €130, well under the €179 list price.

What the Reviewers Say

What the reviewers say

The reviewers agree on the core character: a soft, forgiving control racket that asks little of your arm. After a two-hour test, Aladdin at Total Padel called it "the most comfortable one" of the 2026 Radical range. His guest, German champion Denise Höfer, placed it with beginners and players still finding control, and said that for her own game she wants a more solid frame that makes more speed. Her answer marks where the racket's ceiling sits.

Otro Nivel Padel tested it next to the Team Light and preferred the Team: "It's a very forgiving racket." Its longer handle suits a two-handed backhand, and it has a little more power. The reviewer also found it kinder on the arm and easier to smash with than the Team Light, and scored it 8.0 out of 10 for beginners and intermediates. For pro-level players, he said, it is too soft.

Power is where the sources split. Tennis Warehouse playtesters found "surprisingly good power, even while remaining controllable," and noted that the racket stays stable despite its low balance. The hosts at Padel Smash TV found that power took "a lot more effort," though they praised the easy handling and the price. Both views fit the same racket: the fiberglass face helps a slow or medium swing, but a fast arm gets no extra pace for its effort.

Spanish outlet Padel Addict calls the 2026 Team more comfortable than earlier versions, with a softer touch and a friendly response on every shot. Zona de Padel aims it at players who put control and precision ahead of power, and credits the large hitting area with cutting unforced errors.

How it plays..

Our take: Kaj's summary

The Radical Team 2026 is easy to play well with. Off-centre contact still travels deep, the soft face stays kind to the arm through a long evening, and the low balance buys time at the net. Once your swing gets faster, though, it adds little pace of its own, so players who already finish points overhead will outgrow it.

Defense

Defence is its strongest zone. The low balance makes it quick to bring round for lobs, chiquitas and balls off the glass, and the fiberglass face sends the ball deep without a full swing. Tennis Warehouse found it stable against hard incoming balls despite that low balance, so resets under pressure stay controlled.

Attack

In attack it gives ground. Bandejas and víboras land where you aim them, and Otro Nivel found the smash easy to time because the racket moves so easily. A flat smash gets little extra pace, though, and fast swingers report working hard for power, so do not count on it to finish points from the back of the court.

Netplay

At the net the low balance pays off in fast reflex exchanges, and the soft face helps on drop volleys and touch shots. Stronger players may miss some bite on punched volleys, where the carbon-faced Radical Motion and Radical Pro pull ahead.

Our Advice for New Players

A good choice, especially for adult beginners who want a racket that lasts past the first season. It is forgiving, comfortable and easy to swing. The Radical Team Light has an even bigger sweet spot but a very short grip, so the Team suits larger hands and two-handed backhands better.

Our Advice for Intermediate Players

This is the core audience. Intermediates who build points with placement and want consistency get forgiveness, comfort and easy depth from a frame that never feels stiff. Control and defensive players will get the most from it. Players who want to attack every high ball should look at a firmer racket.

Competitive level

Mostly not. Advanced players with a fast swing will find it too soft and short of pace, a point both Otro Nivel Padel and Padel Smash TV make. Inside the same family, the Radical Motion 2026 with its double carbon face or the heavier Radical Pro 2026 is the logical next step.

How It Compares

How it compares

Head Radical Team Light 2026: lighter (around 340 g) and rounder, with a bigger sweet spot but a much shorter grip and a higher balance. Pick it for small hands, juniors or anyone who tires quickly. Choose the Team for more stability, a longer handle and a little more power.

Head Radical Motion 2026: same family, but the double carbon face makes it firmer, with more control on fast shots. Pick the Motion once your swing is quick enough to use a carbon face. Stay with the Team if comfort and easy depth matter more.
