The reviewers agree on the headline and split on the detail. On power, nobody hedges. PadelStar tested the whole 2025 Extreme range at Head's launch event and called it "a brutal racket for power: on x3 smashes and viboras the ball leaves devastatingly, but it demands good technique and arm strength." Justpadel reached the same place from the other end, noting it is "quite powerful whenever you play flat, and very stable at the net to block." PADELREVIEW ENG, who took it on court, came at it from the arm: the net is its natural habitat, and "it tires your arm a little over time, but with this racket you simply cannot hold back."

The interesting disagreement is about defense. Padel Nuestro was the most positive: "what surprised us most is the feel of the rubber, reactive but not excessively so. At lower speeds it softens up and makes defending much easier." PadelCritic pushed back from the baseline, finding it "raw and firm from the back, where depth requires preparation and timing." Both can be true. The core gives you something on a slow ball off the glass, and gives you nothing when you are late.

On forgiveness, the 2025 drilling change gets consistent credit. Time2Padel, comparing it directly against the world number one's frame, found "the sweet spot is bigger and sits a touch lower than on the Coello Pro." Probando Palas, testing the whole 2025 line back to back, was blunter: "the sweet spot is very well optimised, above almost any power racket on the market." That is the one spec change most likely to matter to a buyer.

The consensus here is unusually consistent: the power is real, and the hitting zone is wider than a 370g diamond normally gives you. Where it gets expensive is late in a match, because the head heavy balance asks for a full, early swing on every ball, and a tired arm pays for that through a stiff frame. The extra forgiveness only applies once the swing is already correct, so it is not a racket that helps a technique still under construction. It flatters a good swing and exposes a rushed one.

Defense

Better than a 370g diamond has any right to be, but only under the right conditions. The Power Foam core softens at lower ball speeds, so lobs and balls picked up off the back glass come out cleaner than expected for an attacking frame. What it will not do is rescue you when you are late. Balls at the feet and fast dipping shots need the swing started early, and the weight keeps arriving whether you are ready or not.

Offense

This is the whole point of the racket. The high balance loads the top of the frame, and a committed overhead swing turns into a flat smash that ends the rally instead of restarting it. The rough 3D surface bites enough to keep the vibora and the bajada honest when you want spin instead of pace. It gives back what you put in and nothing more: a lazy swing produces a medium ball.

Net play

The strongest area for most players. The frame stays square through contact, so block volleys hold their line when an opponent hits hard at your body, and punch volleys carry real weight behind them. Touch is the weaker half. Short angled volleys and drop shots need a deliberately soft hand, because the face wants to send the ball forward rather than place it.

How it compares

Head Coello Pro 2025: harder, heavier and more extreme in every direction. Take the Coello Pro if you want the most reactive ball exit Head makes and you can live with a smaller margin for error.
