Padel Racket Review - Head Extreme Motion 2025

What the reviewers say

Everyone who hit with it landed in roughly the same place: this is the Extreme you can play a full match with. PADELREVIEW ENG opened their Extreme coverage with the Motion instead of the Pro and said plainly that they prefer it. On the shot it is built for, they were clear: "On flat smashes it is a little cannon, powerful, precise and stable." Their unit weighed 359g at a 27cm balance, so Head's numbers hold.

Aladdin at Total Padel reached the same conclusion from another direction, and raw output was not the point: "My smashes were more efficient and with more control, and I was missing the ball less on víboras, because I could execute my technique cleanly." Padel Nuestro tested all three Extreme models and explains why: "From the first rally you notice it moves faster, and your arm does not load up as much in long exchanges." PadelStar hit with the range at Head's launch event and described it as "explosive but very agile, and on volleys and bandejas the maneuverability shows without losing punch on the smash."

The dissent is worth reading. Manu Martín of Mejora Tu Pádel tested the whole Extreme line over two days in Madrid and was less relaxed about the balance: "The sweet spot sits high on the face, and off centre balls come off noticeably duller and with less control." He still rates the racket, but for a particular player: one who reads the point early and arrives at the ball on time, not one who spends the match chasing it.

Power comes with any head heavy diamond. What stands out is how little the Motion asks in return: the ball comes off easily at medium pace, so a deep lob costs less effort than the shape suggests, and the wider hole pattern keeps a poor contact playable. Timing is the catch, because the weight at the tip only helps when you are already set. Point builders who hit a lot of balls on the run will find the racket half a step behind them.

From the back of the court it is more manageable than a 270mm balance usually allows. The ball leaves the face easily at low and medium speed, so clearing the net on a lob does not need a full swing, and the wider hitting zone keeps a rushed contact alive. It will not rescue you when you are late, though. With the weight at the tip and the sweet spot high on the face, a low ball off the back glass taken in an awkward position comes off dull and short. Reviewers split exactly here: those who tested in controlled conditions called defence easy, while the one who played two full days called it demanding.

This is the reason to buy it. The head heavy balance and the Power Foam core turn a full arm swing into a flat smash that ends the rally, and the unidirectional carbon face sends the ball away quickly rather than holding it. Kick smashes and por tres come off without perfect contact, which is where the new hole pattern earns its place. It does not hit as heavy as the Extreme Pro, and in return you can still do it in the third set.

The mid court is where the 2025 changes show. Ten grams off the Pro is enough to get the racket to a fast volley in time, and the rough Extreme Spin face grips the ball, so a bandeja stays low and a víbora bites. Slice and controlled volleys feel comfortable straight away. Watch the flat, hard volley: the ball rebounds quicker than you expect off the firmer carbon face, and the tip can lag if you have to change direction late.

How it compares

Against the Head Extreme Pro 2025, the question is ceiling against stamina. The Pro is around ten grams heavier and firmer, and on a clean flat smash it hits heavier. The Motion gives up some of that for a racket that still moves when you are 5-4 down in the third. If your matches end with a tired arm, take the Motion.

Against the Head Speed Pro 2025, the choice comes down to shape and intent. The Speed Pro is a teardrop with an even balance: better in defence, easier on the run, and the better buy for a player who builds points and counter attacks. Pick the Motion if you want the point to end at the net.
