8Bullpadel Ionic Control 2024
Bullpadel · 2024
Exceptional control and precision
Moderate power output
6.2The Ionic Control 2026 suits beginner and intermediate players who defend from the back and want easy depth on lobs at an entry-level price. Players who want a quick, precise racket for fast exchanges at the net should try it first or look at last year's model.

All-court player who prizes control, feel and spin
Bowe is convinced that the racket, shoes, court are the problem, never his own abilities.
The Bullpadel Ionic Control 2026 is the round model in Bullpadel's entry-level Ionic line, next to the Ionic Power and Ionic Light. It has a dual-density MultiEva core, a Glaphite face (a fiberglass and carbon blend) with the rough 3D Grain texture, a CarbonTube carbon frame and a 38 mm profile. Bullpadel and retailers list 365 to 375 g; the unit Padel Review tested weighed 360 g with a balance of about 26.9 cm, so it is not as head-light as a typical round control racket.
List price is about 170 euros and retailers have sold it from about 135 euros. Bullpadel aims it at intermediate players who want control. In the hands-on test so far, the 2026 version plays with more free power and less precision than that label suggests.
What the Reviewers Say
The only full hands-on review so far comes from Padel Review, who published it in Italian and English. They liked earlier Ionic Control models and were disappointed by this one. They found the Glaphite face gives a lot of free power, so when you get the racket under the ball in defense, "the lob just takes off". Blocks at the net also go deep with no effort.
The problems start when the pace goes up. Padel Review found the sweet spot "inconsistent more than small": off-centre hits either fly long or die short. They also found the racket slow through the air for its 360 g, which made fast exchanges, backhand returns and flat smashes hard work. Their scores were lowest for control and maneuverability, and highest for lobs and ball output. They rate it for intermediate and even beginner players, on both sides.
Retailer descriptions from Padel Market and Zona de Padel present it as a control racket for defensive intermediates. That matches the target player, but not the hands-on finding on precision.
How it plays..
For a player who wants to place the ball and work it with spin, the issue here is predictability: a face that fires the ball out makes it hard to dose touch shots. The rough surface is a plus for spin, but the slower swing weight works against quick, precise play at the net. It makes most sense for a patient defender who lives on lobs.
Defense
Defense is where the racket works best. The lively face lifts lobs high and deep with a short swing, and a late, defensive contact still gets the ball back over. The limit is fast balls to the backhand, where the slower handling makes timing hard.
Attack
There is plenty of free power when you hit the centre, but it is hard to control. Padel Review found forced shots went long or into the net and struggled to get the flat smash going, as the racket felt heavy to swing overhead.
Netplay
A simple block goes deep on its own, which helps at a slow pace. At a high pace the racket is late to react, and a firm push easily sends the volley long. Touch shots need care because the face gives so much exit speed.
Our Advice for New Players
Beginners get easy depth and lobs without much technique, at a low price. The weight and the inconsistent sweet spot mean it is less forgiving than many round rackets for new players.
Our Advice for Intermediate Players
Intermediates who play slow, defensive padel from the back will like the lobs. Players who want speed and precision at the net will find it slow.
Competitive level
Advanced players will find it too slow and too hard to dose at a high pace.
How It Compares
Padel Review preferred the Ionic Control 2025, which they found faster and more consistent. At a similar price they suggested an older Bullpadel Vertex 04 from 2024 as a better buy for players who want more control. Within the 2026 Ionic line, the Ionic Power is the diamond option for players who want to attack.
