Bullpadel Icon 20258.3

Conclusion

The Icon 2025 gives a bit more ball exit than the Hack 04 while keeping medium-hard control, so smashes and víboras run deep without much effort. It suits advanced players who build points and pick their moments to attack. Developing players should look elsewhere: off-centre hits in defense cost more than on softer rackets.

The Bullpadel Icon 2025 is the signature racket of Juan Martín Díaz, the Argentine who spent 14 years at world number one. It sits next to the Hack 04 and Vertex 04 in Bullpadel's 2025 line and shares the Vertex's materials: a 12K carbon face and the brand's dual-density MultiEva core. The difference is in the build. The Icon has a solid core with no air channels, a head-heavy diamond shape and an extra layer of paint that makes it feel firmer than the Vertex. It weighs around 365–375g, and weights in the frame let you move the balance up or down. Launch price was close to €300, but it now sells for well under half that at many shops.

What the Reviewers Say

What the reviewers say

The reviewers agree that the Icon is a complete attacking racket that wins points with direction more than raw speed. Padel Market calls it an attack racket built for control and precision, and says "you are not going to explode the ball with the Icon", it attacks by placing the ball where the opponent is weak. Hotel Palas, who measured his unit at 364g and a 26.3 cm balance, went in with low expectations and came out calling it the best Bullpadel he tested in 2025. His reason: "with the same effort the ball comes out faster and more easily" than with the Hack 04, without becoming uncontrolled.

Where they differ is defense and handling. Padel Market found it heavier than the Vertex at the back of the court and warns that it can punish you when you miss the centre. Hotel Palas agrees that it moves slightly worse than the Hack out of the box, but thinks removing the Hesacor grip fixes most of that. He also found the sweet spot a little bigger than the Hack's. Tennis Overload leans further towards control, saying "defense is arguably the Icon's strongest area", and lists the price and the need for solid technique as the main drawbacks. Mundo Padel Argentina is clear that it is not a racket for beginners.

How it plays..

Our take: Kaj's summary

The Icon is easier to play well with than the Hack 04, and the small extra ball exit is the reason. Short lobs and deep defensive balls need less effort. But the solid, firm build still asks for clean contact. Players who are still grooving their technique will feel the difference on mishits, and should try one with the Hesacor removed before they buy.

Defense

In defense the Icon is steady but not light. The extra ball exit helps you get lobs over the net players, and the sweet spot is sufficient. With the stock grip it feels heavier than the Vertex, and slow balls hit off-centre lose depth. Remove the Hesacor or the dampeners and it moves much better.

Attack

Overhead is where it shines. The head-heavy balance and slightly livelier response make víboras and bandejas travel deep without a big swing, and flat smashes come off fast instead of dying in the rubber. It is not a Metalbone-style trampoline: reviewers describe controlled, medium reactivity, so you still have to finish points with technique.

Netplay

At the net it is not the fastest diamond, but blocks stay controlled and you can push volleys deep with little effort. The 3D surface texture is subtle, so do not expect much extra bite on sliced volleys.

Our Advice for New Players

Not a good choice. The weight, the high balance and the firm face will punish technique that is still developing. A softer, round or teardrop racket is a better start.

Our Advice for Intermediate Players

High intermediates with clean contact can get on with it, especially at the discount price. If your defense relies on the racket forgiving mishits, consider the softer Icon Cloud first.

Competitive level

This is the target player: advanced players who want a complete racket that attacks with control, builds points and still finishes overhead. It suits both sides.

How It Compares

How it compares

  • Bullpadel Hack 04 2025: same hardness class, but drier and lower in ball exit. Pick the Hack if you like to push the ball and want maximum firmness. Pick the Icon if you want the same control with a little more help.
  • Bullpadel Icon Cloud 2025: the softer, cheaper sibling with a Cloud EVA core. Better for players who want comfort and forgiveness over firm feedback.
