Serve technique: accuracy over power

The serve exists to reach the net position, not to score an ace. Attempting to hit with power leads to wrist movement and a loss of control. A fast serve leaves no time to move forward, often leaving the server stranded in the middle of the court. Instead, place the ball deep into the service box, aiming for the middle or the corner to limit the opponent's options.

By keeping the ball deep and controlled, you force the opponent to play a lob or a defensive shot. This provides the necessary time to reach the net position safely. If the opponent lobs, the controlled serve ensures you are ready to play the overhead. Prioritize depth and placement to put the opponent under pressure rather than trying to win the point immediately.
