Where should I aim my bandeja to keep the net position?

The goal of the bandeja or vibora is to force an opponent into a difficult position that allows the player to follow up with a volley. Many players default to hitting toward the fourth wall, which is often too easy for defenders to return with a lob. Instead, aiming for the fifth wall in the center of the court forces opponents to move more and increases the likelihood of them having to use the glass.

When playing a faster vibora, aim for the opponent's feet to limit their reaction time. If the player is out of position or under pressure, slow down the shot and focus on deep placement toward the center. Avoid hitting fast bandejas that allow skilled opponents to use the glass for a counter-attack or a chiquita. A successful bandeja requires a high contact point and significant slice to keep the bounce low. If the ball is hit too high or too fast without clear intent, it becomes a setup for the opponent to lob or take over the net position.
