SIUX Obsidian Elite 2027 Green

What to expect

On paper this is the Obsidian for players who want comfort and easy ball output more than a stiff, precise face. The soft core, 3K carbon and low balance should suit improving and advanced players with a sensitive arm. Hard hitters who want a crisp finish on the smash will likely prefer the 16K Pro.

The Siux Obsidian Elite 2027 is the softer version of the new Obsidian line. It uses the same teardrop mould, low balance and tubular frame as the Obsidian Pro, but swaps the 16K face for 3K carbon and a softer core. This listing is the green colourway.

Retailers list it at 355 to 375 g. That range is also given for the Pro, and Siux has not published a separate Elite figure, so treat the exact weight as uncertain until you hold one.

What the Brand Says

Siux and its retailers describe the Elite as the comfort pick of the family. The EVA Soft core is rated 4.5 out of 10 for hardness, the softest in the line, and is said to absorb vibration and give a smooth ball exit. The 3K SC Comfort carbon face is claimed to be more flexible and more forgiving than the Pro's 16K face, with better ball output and little loss of precision. The finish is satin rather than the Pro's 3D texture, and retailers give a sweet spot of 92 cm².

Early coverage: Mejora Tu Padel compared the Obsidian 2027 models in a launch video and asked whether the 16K Pro is worth around 90 euros more. That is a line comparison, not a hands-on test of the Elite.

How It Compares

Against the Obsidian Pro 2027 (on paper): same shape, balance and frame, but the Pro has a 16K face, a 5 out of 10 core and a 3D surface. The Pro points to precision and a firmer finish for advanced players; the Elite points to comfort and easier power.

Against the Obsidian Silver 2027 (on paper): the Silver sits between the two in finish and price. Pick the Elite if a soft feel is your priority.

Pros & Cons

Strengths

  • Soft EVA core should be kind on the arm
  • Low balance points to quick hands at the net
  • 3K face should give easy ball output at slower swing speeds
  • Shares the Pro's teardrop mould at a lower price

Considerations

  • Not yet tested by enough reviewers
  • Softer face will likely give less precision on hard smashes than the 16K Pro
