8.3Lok Maxx Hype Gen 2 Mike Yanguas 2026
Lok · 2026
Fast, heavy smashes and víboras
Head weight shows on low defensive balls
8.1Smashes hit high on the face come back fast, and the rough surface puts real spin on the víbora. It suits attacking high-intermediate and advanced players who finish at the net. Beginners and control-first players should go rounder, because the small sweet spot punishes off-centre contact.

All-court player who prizes control, feel and spin
Bowe is convinced that the racket, shoes, court are the problem, never his own abilities.
The Lok Maxx Hype Yanguas World 2026 is a special edition of Mike Yanguas' Maxx Hype Gen 2. Under the paint it is the same racket: a head-heavy diamond of around 360 to 375g with an 18K carbon face, Lok's Custom EVA core, the asymmetric heart at the throat and the raised 3D Spin Lines texture. What changes is the look. Lok gave this World version its own finish and Yanguas signature details, and some shops also sell a Summer Edition in silver and green.
So the buying question is not how it differs from the Gen 2 on court, because it does not. It is whether you want the attacking Yanguas diamond in this finish at this price. List price sits around €300, but shops have cleared it from roughly €199.
What the Reviewers Say
Three channels tested the World edition by name, and they agree on where it shines: overhead. La Chiquita Pádel found the smash its strongest shot and said that when you get under the ball and hit near the top of the face, "the ball leaves with a lot of speed and it is easy to bring it back to your side." They also liked the grip of the rough face on the víbora, which comes off low after the bounce.
The sweet spot is the main warning. Otro Nivel Padel called it "heavy touch, small sweet spot" and scored it 8.2 out of 10, adding that the feel is excellent when you find the centre but that it only makes sense for players who play often and have good timing. La Chiquita Pádel agreed that off-centre hits lose precision and some pop.
Reviewers split on firmness. Otro Nivel Padel found it stiff and harder to move than an Adidas Cross It Ctrl. Hotel Palas, on a light 345g unit, found it softer than expected and compared it to "a Metalbone light", with easy ball exit at slow and medium pace but less punch on hard flat smashes. Their advice was to lift the ball with spin rather than hit it flat, and they found it easy to use for players stepping up from softer rackets. The difference in weight between their test units likely explains part of this split.
How it plays..
This is an attacking diamond, and its best trait for touch players is the 3D surface: slice and víbora come off with real bite. The cost is precision on off-centre contact and a head weight that asks for good preparation at the net. Players who value placement over finishing power will be happier with a rounder, lighter shape. If you do want this racket, check the weight of your unit, because a 345g and a 375g copy play quite differently.
Defense
Defence is better than the shape suggests. La Chiquita Pádel had good control on lobs and chiquitas from the back, helped by a clean, low-vibration contact. The high balance still asks you to be in position early, and the ball exit is not free on low balls, so tired or late defenders will feel the weight.
Attack
The smash is where the racket makes its case. Hit high on the face and it sends the ball back fast with little effort, and the rough surface adds spin for kick smashes. The limit shows on the flat, full-power smash: Hotel Palas felt the ball sink into the face on a lighter unit and lose some of its energy, so lifting it with spin works better than hitting through it.
Netplay
At the net it moves more easily than most head-heavy diamonds. Volleys are quick to prepare, and bandeja and víbora give you enough feel to change pace and direction. The víbora is the standout, low and heavy with spin. Very fast exchanges expose the small sweet spot, and Hotel Palas felt a slight loss of control at high tempo.
Our Advice for New Players
Not a beginner racket. The head weight and small sweet spot punish the inconsistent contact that is normal early on. A round, lighter racket will help you learn faster.
Our Advice for Intermediate Players
High-intermediate players with an attacking game can use it, especially on a lighter unit. Hotel Palas found it easier than its reputation. If you still miss the centre often, expect short and unpredictable balls.
Competitive level
Advanced attackers who finish at the net get the most from it: fast smashes, a heavy víbora and a clean feel when the timing is right. Defensive and control-first players should look at a rounder shape.
How It Compares
The Lok Maxx Hype Gen 2 Mike Yanguas 2026 is the same construction in the standard finish. Buy whichever design you like more or whichever is cheaper that week. Otro Nivel Padel set it against the Adidas Cross It Ctrl: the Adidas is rounder, lower balanced, easier to swing and has a larger sweet spot, while the Lok gives more power and a better feel on clean contact. Pick the Adidas for control and forgiveness, and the Lok for attack.
