Winning against tennis players requires controlling the pace and placement of the ball. Instead of aiming for the corners, direct the ball to the center of the court. This limits the angles available to the opponent and forces them to move. When at the net, use soft block volleys to keep the ball low and short. A short backswing is essential to maintain control. Keep the wrist locked and move the entire arm forward through contact rather than dropping the wrist. Rotate the body to stay balanced and keep the volley compact.
Positioning is vital when playing in the center. After hitting a volley to the middle, move toward the center to cover potential returns. If the opponent is forced to play from the back, keep the ball deep to make them use the glass. If the ball is low, play soft to the center to let the ball die. When the opponent is at the net, use a lob over the player who is positioned closer to the net. Maintain a distance of one and a half meters between partners, mirroring each other's movements to close gaps.
