Watching the opponent's shoulder position when they strike the ball reveals whether a smash or a defensive play is coming, allowing for better court coverage. When building a point, maintain pressure by playing three consecutive balls to the same defender, especially when they are out of position. Avoid the common error of switching targets too early, which allows the opponents to recover their defensive structure.
Movement and communication are equally vital. When a partner plays a strong shot that forces an opponent out of position, move forward toward the net immediately to capitalize on the advantage. During lobs, the player at the net must communicate the opponents' positions to the partner at the back. If both opponents are at the net, play fast to deny them time; if one is back, target that player. Finally, prioritize parallel lobs, particularly against a left-right pairing, to force the opponent to cover more distance and create better opportunities for a chiquita.
