Effective padel requires balancing aggression with safety. Playing too safely results in giving opponents easy balls, while forcing power without purpose often leads to unforced errors. A safe acceleration, where the player maintains control on eight or nine out of ten shots, proves more effective than playing too soft or too fast. When receiving a slow ball, changing direction creates opportunities to surprise opponents. Conversely, when the incoming ball is fast, maintaining the same direction reduces the risk of errors.

Defense hinges on trajectory management. Under pressure, particularly when the ball is low and fast, players should avoid lobs and instead play the ball down to force a block from the opponent. This creates a chance to take over the net. When the ball is deep and rising, however, a lob becomes a viable option to transition to an attacking position. Pressure is best applied through positioning and shot placement rather than raw power. Attacking from the net is only appropriate when the ball is higher than the net or arriving slowly. When the ball is low or fast, the priority shifts to defending and blocking. Technique serves as a tool to expand tactical options rather than an end in itself, and players should prioritize functional, adjustable strokes over a pursuit of perfection.
