Professional padel players rely on the Australian formation to maintain court positioning and specialize in side-specific play. Beyond formation, serve direction dictates the point flow. Targeting the side glass forces a difficult rebound for the opponent, while serving down the middle creates uncertainty regarding whether the ball should be taken before or after the wall. Serving directly at the body remains an underutilized option that forces awkward movement and often leads to weak returns.

Maximizing aggression requires hitting the ball at the highest legal point, which is the waist. Bouncing the ball yourself rather than letting it drop allows for better control over this height. Standing on tiptoes further increases the impact point, provided the contact remains below the waist. Players can also gain time by initiating their run toward the net before the final foot leaves the ground. Finally, the last bounce before impact must occur behind the service line, but angling that bounce forward or toward the center of the court provides a tactical edge in positioning.
