Net approach technique: taking the ball early

Net approaches rely on taking the ball early to steal time from the opponent. When receiving a short bandeja, the player steps forward and taps the ball with minimal swing to keep the approach shot controlled. The goal is to land the ball near specific targets, avoiding the net player while moving forward immediately upon contact. This aggressive positioning forces the opponent to defend and prevents them from recovering their net position.

Counter-attacking from the glass requires turning the body to prepare for the rebound. The player must adjust their movement based on the ball trajectory, whether it travels straight or cross-court, to create space for the shot. When the ball arrives at waist or chest height, the player maintains a fixed body position to execute the volley while continuing to close the net. The ultimate objective is to reach a superior court position than the opponent, as the net becomes a battleground where the player who closes the space most effectively wins the point.
