Varying lob types prevents opponents from settling into a rhythm. Beyond the standard deep lob used to pass the net, players should utilize the offensive lob and the volley lob. The offensive lob is a lower, sliced shot that leaves opponents little time to react, making it effective against players crowding the net or when the ball is near the service line. Applying slice prevents the ball from bouncing too high, causing it to die closer to the glass.

The volley lob is a soft shot played when the rhythm is low, forcing opponents to move forward and backward. By playing soft to the feet, players can neutralize a strong vibora or bajada, as the opponent's contact point remains low. Another tactical approach involves lobbing the player who is currently moving, as they are often caught out of position or rushing forward after a shot. Aiming for the middle against two right-handed players forces the partner on the left to cover, while lobbing to the weaker player remains a consistent strategy. These tactics are most useful for players looking to disrupt the net position of their opponents rather than simply trying to pass them.
