Head balance dictates body alignment and shot precision across all padel strokes. Positioning the head in front of the feet during a volley allows the player to move into the ball, preventing late contact and weak, floaty shots. Even when moving back in defense, maintaining the head in front of the feet while rotating the torso ensures stability and prevents the player from falling backward into the glass.
For overhead shots like the vibora, keeping the head sideways rather than facing the net prevents excessive wrist movement and improves contact consistency. In the smash, the head position varies based on the shot type: a flat smash requires the head to lean slightly forward to drive through the ball, while a kick smash requires the head to remain back to facilitate a vertical trajectory. Looking away from the contact point too early is a primary cause of mishits and neck strain. Keeping the eyes fixed on the point of impact until the swing is entirely finished significantly increases control, especially when playing at higher speeds.
