You must add slice to the ball so it dies upon hitting the glass. Keep your arm loose and move the racket from high to low to ensure the bounce stays low.
The bandeja serves as a defensive tool to maintain the net position rather than an attacking overhead. Players initiate the movement by turning sideways as soon as a lob is identified, keeping the non-dominant arm up to align the shoulders. The full body participates in the swing, involving the hips and legs to generate power rather than relying solely on the arm. Contact occurs at eye level, with the goal of landing the ball behind the opponent's baseline to allow time for recovery.
Advanced execution requires adding slice to minimize the ball's bounce off the glass. A loose arm and a racket path moving from high to low with an open face prevent the ball from rebounding, which limits the opponent's ability to counterattack with a lob. Aiming toward the back glass and side glass displaces the opponent, creating space in the center for the subsequent volley. While targeting the corners is standard, mixing in shots to the center forces the opponent to wait and react, provided the ball stays low to avoid giving away an easy return.
