Attacking the middle of the court requires soft, short, and slow shots to keep the ball behind the defender. This tactic forces opponents into difficult positions, especially when using slice to prevent them from countering. If the ball is played too deep or behind the white line, it allows the opponent to counter-attack with a lob or a smash. Success in the middle relies on keeping the ball low and short before the white line.
Transitioning to the net involves reading the opponent's bandeja. When a bandeja is too high or comes off the glass, players can counter with a chiquita to move forward or play a high lob to the T to close the distance. Stepping one or two steps closer to the net is effective when the opponent is in trouble and unable to execute a quality lob. These methods allow players to maintain pressure and win the net position during long rallies. These tactics are best suited for advanced players who can read the opponent's defensive limitations and execute precise volleys.
