7.1Wilson Blade Junior Cara Minion
Wilson · 2022
Extremely lightweight design perfect for junior players
Limited power output for more advanced players
7.5The Minions 2.0 Junior is easy to swing and forgiving on off-centre hits, so children can work on technique instead of fighting the racket. It suits young beginners and juniors still learning the basics. Stronger juniors who want to finish points will find the power limited and are likely to outgrow it.

Developing all-court player focused on consistency and comfort
Always gets an "A" for effort from the coach. That tells you enough about his technique.
The Wilson Minions 2.0 Junior is a racket for children, with a playful design and a shorter, lighter frame than an adult model. It weighs about 310g and is 430mm long. With the balance point at 245mm, the head feels light in a young player's hand. Wilson pairs a soft EVA foam core with a fiberglass frame and a teardrop shape, and adds its Sharp Hole Technology to the face. At around €55 it sits at the budget end of the market.
How it plays..
This is an easy racket to play well with. The light, head-light frame lets a child get the racket into position in time, and the soft core is forgiving when contact is off-centre. Power is the trade-off: a junior who hits flat and hard gets little extra pace from the racket, so technique has to create it.
Defense
Defense is where the racket helps a junior most. Low weight and a compact size make fast reactions easy, so a player can get back into position quickly. On faster balls, the soft core absorbs pace and helps a young player stay in control.
Attack
Big smashes are not its strength. Power is modest, so the teardrop shape and the Sharp Hole face are better used to add spin. That pushes a junior to create pace through technique rather than relying on racket weight.
Netplay
At the net the maneuverability shows most. Young players can set the racket for volleys and quick exchanges without lag, and the light weight keeps the arm fresh through long practice.
Our Advice for New Players
For a child's first proper padel racket, the Minions 2.0 Junior is a sound buy. The forgiving core and manageable weight make early rallies easier, and the budget price makes it a sensible purchase for parents.
Our Advice for Intermediate Players
Juniors who have the basics still get value from it. Its control-oriented design supports good shot selection and clean technique, though some players will want more power as their game grows.
Competitive level
Advanced juniors are likely to outgrow it. Control and maneuverability stay strong, but a competitive junior with developed technique will want a racket with more power.
