StarVie Aquila Space Pro 20218.5

Conclusion

The Aquila Space Pro 2021 suits high-intermediate and advanced players who want weight behind the smash and enough control to place the ball. The medium-hard touch and power-oriented balance ask for sound technique, so beginners should start with something more forgiving. It is discontinued, so buy it only at a good price.

The StarVie Aquila Space Pro 2021 is a teardrop racket in the 356 to 370 g range, with a power-oriented balance, a medium-hard touch and a rough face. StarVie builds it from 100% 3K carbon around a PRO 50 EVA core. Two technologies shape how it plays: the Aquila Core positioning and Extreme Spot Technology, which together widen the sweet spot and still give clear feedback on contact. RTS technology damps vibration, so the firm build stays comfortable over a long match.

This 2021 model is discontinued. It sits in the mid-range price category and is still worth a look if you find it at a good price.

How it plays..

Our take: Christoph's summary

This racket rewards a committed swing. The power-oriented balance and firm 3K carbon face put real weight behind the smash, and the large sweet spot keeps full-power shots consistent. The cost shows at the net, where the balance makes quick reactions slower. If you finish points with the overhead and your technique is sound, it gives you plenty back.

Defense

Defense

The large sweet spot helps you keep control when you defend from the back, and the medium-density core gives enough feedback to handle hard incoming balls. A stable frame helps with precise lobs and with keeping depth on clearances. The balance does take some getting used to when you have to react fast.

Attack

Offense

Attack is where the Aquila Space Pro plays best. The teardrop shape and power-oriented balance put weight into the ball, above all on overhead smashes. The rough Full Plane Effect surface grips the ball for spin on aggressive drives, and the large sweet spot keeps shots consistent at full power. You need proper technique to get that power out of it.

Netplay

Net play

For a firm racket, it has good touch at the net. The carbon build and medium-hard feel give precise volleys and touch shots. Fast volley exchanges are harder, because the balance slows the racket down, but the wide sweet spot keeps off-centre volleys in play.

Our Advice for New Players

For beginners

The medium-hard touch and power-oriented balance need good technique before they pay off. The large sweet spot forgives some mishits, but a beginner is better served by a more forgiving racket first.

Our Advice for Intermediate Players

For intermediates

Intermediate players who are building their technique get a lot from it. The balance helps them hit harder, and there is enough control to keep working on placement.

Competitive level

For advanced players

Advanced players get precise feedback from the medium-hard touch and enough power for an aggressive game. Newer models carry updated technology, but at a lower price this one is still competitive.
