Dunlop Nanomax Lite 20257.2

Conclusion

Quick in the hand and soft on off-centre hits, the Nanomax Lite makes blocks, resets and fast net exchanges easy. It suits beginners and control-minded improvers on a budget. Attacking players and anyone who wants pace on the smash will outgrow it quickly, because it adds little power of its own.

The Dunlop Nanomax Lite 2025 is the lighter, softer model in Dunlop's entry-level Nanomax line, one step below the Nanomax Pro. It is a teardrop-leaning hybrid of around 350g with an even balance, a soft EVA core and a fibreglass face. The list price is €100, but retailers usually sell it for €56 to €80.

Weight and feel are what matter here. At roughly 350g it is one of the easiest rackets in Dunlop's range to swing, and the soft core takes the sting out of off-centre hits. The Extra Grip textured face gives a little help with spin. The cost of that comfort is output: the racket adds little pace on its own, and on overheads it lacks the stability of the heavier Nanomax Pro.

What the Reviewers Say

What the reviewers say

Five sources, one video and four written reviews, agree on the core picture: a light, forgiving, arm-friendly racket for players who are starting out, with modest power.

SchlägerCheck gave it four out of five overall, with 4/5 for control, 4/5 for comfort and 3/5 for power. On power they were fair: the racket is there "to give you security, not maximum smash force." Padelspeed reached the same conclusion in its review of the full Nanomax range, calling the Lite "ideal for players who value maneuverability, comfort, easy control and low fatigue over raw finishing power." They also noted it lacks the stability of the Pro versions on decisive overheads.

On comfort and defence the written reviews line up. Padel Racket Store wrote that the "Soft EVA absorbs bad hits, helping you keep rallies alive," and RacketLoop singled out the reset: "The Soft EVA core absorbs pace beautifully, helping you reset points." Ewan Ramsden of Everything Padel kept it short: the racket "is lightweight and allows for a fast swing."

They differ on level and shape. Zona de Padel and Padel Racket Store place it firmly at beginner level and warn that you may outgrow it quickly. RacketLoop and SchlägerCheck see room for intermediates who want to work on consistency. Shops list the head as teardrop or hybrid, while SchlägerCheck calls it round. In practice it plays like a forgiving, even-balanced racket, not an attacking one.

How it plays..

Our take: Lars's summary

The Nanomax Lite handles the patient part of the game well. It is quick to prepare, forgiving on blocks and makes it easy to keep the ball in play. The trade-off is output: deep lobs and balls off the back glass need a full swing to find length, and smashes rarely push the opponents back. At this price, that is a fair deal for anyone still building consistency.

Defense

Defence is its strongest zone. The soft core absorbs pace, so blocks and resets against hard balls come back controlled instead of flying long. The low weight gets the racket into position quickly under pressure. The limit is length: lobs from deep in the court need a committed swing.

Attack

Attack is modest. The power is there if you swing through, but the racket adds little by itself, and reviewers found it less stable on decisive smashes than the heavier Nanomax Pro. Hitting the ball out of the court with a flat smash is hard work. Placed smashes and bandejas suit it better.

Netplay

At the net it is quick. The low weight helps in fast exchanges and reaction volleys, and the textured face gives some bite on slice volleys and drop shots.

Our Advice for New Players

A good first racket. It is light, forgiving and easy on the arm, and cheap enough that moving on after a season or two is no problem.

Our Advice for Intermediate Players

A good fit if you play for control and consistency and do not need the racket to finish points. If you already attack from the net or want more pace on the smash, you will reach its limits quickly. Look at the Nanomax Pro or a medium-weight racket instead.

Competitive level

Not the right tool. Advanced players will miss the stability and the output on overheads.

How It Compares

How it compares

The Dunlop Nanomax Pro is the step up in the same line. It is heavier at around 365g and has a firmer core, so it gives more punch and stability on overheads. Pick the Pro if you are improving and want more output. Pick the Lite if you want the lightest, most comfortable option and your arm or shoulder comes first.
