Drop Shot Conqueror 10 20228.2

Conclusion

At the net it feels firm and accurate, and overheads get real help from the high balance. It suits advanced attackers with a clean, committed swing. Players who need easy depth from the back or a forgiving frame on low defensive balls should look at the softer 10 Soft or a rounder racket.

Drop Shot Conqueror 10 2022

The Conqueror 10 is the 2022 signature racket of Juan Martín Díaz, the former world number one who helps Drop Shot shape the Conqueror line. It marked the tenth edition of the model. Next to it, Drop Shot sold the Conqueror 10 Soft with the same mould and a softer rubber, so the choice between the two is mostly about feel.

This standard version uses the firmer black EVA Tech core. It is a teardrop with the weight sitting a bit toward the head, a rough face for spin and a long, rectangular handle. Reviewers say little changed from the 2021 model except the look.

What the reviewers say

Hugo Cases (Aprende Pádel) tested the 10 and the 10 Soft for three days of coaching. He found the hard version quiet and controlled at the net: "I could volley and the ball went very well, and I felt a lot of control." He also noted that it asks for more effort from the back than the Soft to get depth, and that the test units were heavier than the retail range.

Padel Lovers put it in a different class from the Soft: "It is a racket for those who love power and aerial play." They warn that it is not a first racket. A control volley is easy to overhit unless you have a refined hand, but the bandeja feels "spectacular" with the high balance.

La Chiquita Pádel presents it in a short video as the anniversary model of the JMD series, aimed at attacking players who want help to finish points.

Padelful rates power highest and rebound lowest, and calls out the build quality: "we can wholeheartedly vouch for its performance and durability."

The reviewers agree on a firm, precise feel, strong overheads and a solid, durable build. They differ on the sweet spot: Padel Lovers call it large, Hugo Cases calls it smaller than on the Explorer but forgiving off-centre. Everyone agrees it is less easy than the Soft on low balls and from the back.

Our take: Christoph's summary

The Conqueror 10 rewards a full, committed swing. It is at its best on forehand volleys and overheads, where the firm core keeps the ball on line. From the back it gives less free depth than the Soft, so right-side players who build points from the baseline must supply the pace themselves.

Who it's for

  • Beginners: not a good choice. The firm core and high balance punish mishits and late swings.
  • Intermediate players: only if you already volley cleanly. Otherwise the Conqueror 10 Soft is the easier pick.
  • Advanced players: a good fit if you attack from the net and want precision over free power.
  • Offensive players: yes, especially for bandejas, smashes and fast volleys.
  • Defensive and control players: look at the Conqueror 10 Soft for easier output, or the Drop Shot Explorer line for more forgiveness.
