What the reviewers say

Everyone agrees on where this racket lives: at the net, and on the ball you hit with intent. The Padel School tested it next to the Vertex 05 Geo and landed on the same read as most: "it's got power, but it's not uncontrollable power", adding that the 12K face is firmer than the Geo's and that the Vertex 05 is the more all round of the two. PadelSpeak, who scored it 8.5 out of 10, was most impressed in exactly that zone: "on a laser volley at shoulder height the frame does not move, no twist and no stray vibration."

The disagreement is about forgiveness, and it is worth reading closely. PadelSpeak treats it as a specialist attacker's frame and warns that the sweet spot shows no mercy once you drift off it. PADELREVIEW ENG lands on the same side: "the sweet spot is not very large, so you still need clean contact, but when you hit it well the response is very consistent." PadelNode reads the same racket the other way, pointing out that "off centre hits punish you less here than on the Hack 04", which is the whole argument for choosing a Vertex over Bullpadel's harder diamond. Both are describing something real: wide for a diamond, still a diamond.

Where the reviews converge again is on effort. PadelZoom puts it plainly: "the ball release is moderate, not explosive, so at a slow rhythm you have to guide the ball through the shot." Padelmesh flags the matching caution at the net, that "the volley demands precise mechanics, because opening the hand slightly or taking a heavier incoming ball can produce a lively, less controlled response", and notes that raw power here sits below the stiffest attacking frames in Bullpadel's own range. Probando Palas, whose unit measured 25.2 cm, would move it out of the power bracket altogether: "this year the Vertex belongs with the control rackets, because from the back of the court it stands out." The trade off he names is the same one, that at medium and low pace you have to lengthen the stroke to get depth.

The Vertex 05 rewards intent more than it rewards technique alone. Played at a medium to high rhythm it is one of the steadiest diamonds available, and the wide hitting zone means a point can be built from the back rather than gambled on. The catch is at slow rhythms, where the ball does not come off the face by itself and every block or short volley has to be driven. Players who construct rallies and disturb rather than overpower get more out of it than a pure finisher would expect, as long as they accept that nothing here is free.

Solid rather than easy. The rebuilt heart keeps the frame from twisting on contact away from the centre, so wall exits come back with direction and lobs hold their length. But this is not a racket that rescues a ball you only just reached: a rushed, stretched contact still drops short, and slow defensive balls need a real swing to find depth. At medium to high pace it defends better than its silhouette suggests.

The flat smash is the clearest shot in the racket. Weight high in the head plus a firm face sends the ball out fast and straight, and the extra grain on the surface gives the víbora and the kick smash real bite. What it does not do is hit for you. Reviewers coming from the Hack line report less raw punch here, traded for a smash you can repeat without the frame punishing every imperfect contact.

The strongest zone. Volleys come off heavy from a short swing, and the frame stays locked when you block a hard ball at shoulder height. The bandeja is consistent and easy to repeat, which matters more across a match than any single winner. The one demand is a firm hand: let the grip open slightly on a heavy incoming ball and the response turns lively.

How it compares

Against the Bullpadel Hack 04 Tour Final 24, the other limited edition diamond in Bullpadel's range, the split is clean. The Hack hits harder and punishes harder: a smaller sweet spot, a stiffer face, and a frame that trails if you arrive late. The Vertex 05 gives up some of that finishing power for a wider hitting zone and a much easier time in transition. Left side players who end points from the air take the Hack. Anyone who has to defend as well as finish takes the Vertex.

If control is the priority and the right side is home, the Bullpadel Hack 04 Hybrid 2025 is the safer pick: an even balance, a bigger sweet spot, and far less demand on swing length, at the cost of the weight of ball the Vertex gives you on the smash.
