Babolat x Lamborghini BL002 Bronze 20267.7

Conclusion

Easy depth from the back and a surprising punch on flat smashes make it simple to play from defense. It suits intermediate and advanced all-court players who want help from the racket, not players who hit hard at the net, where the fast rebound sends volleys long. The price buys exclusivity more than performance.

The BL002 is the second racket from the Babolat and Automobili Lamborghini collaboration, built at the Babolat Padel Studio near Barcelona and made in a numbered run of 5,000. The Bronze is the 2026 colour edition: a metallic bronze finish on the same BL002 build, so the reviews of the original 2025 launch below apply to it.

On court it is an all-rounder, not a specialist. Babolat pairs a 3K carbon face with a medium-density Multi-EVA core and puts a strip of Koridion rigid foam low in the frame to stiffen the throat, which is its "Power on Demand" idea. A thermoplastic TPS layer over the face protects the paint and, according to Babolat, softens the impact. Babolat calls the head isometric, and retailers disagree on the shape and weight figures they print, so treat 360g and a roughly even balance as the reference. At around €600 to €750 it costs two to three times a regular Babolat.

What the Reviewers Say

What the reviewers say

The reviewers agree on one thing: the BL002 gives a lot of ball exit for a medium-feel racket. Dani 13 tested it at the launch in Marbella and found it easy from the back, but its rebound at high tempo took some getting used to. He put it well: "As soon as you apply some force the ball shoots out, so in attack you have to hold back more than with other rackets." He compares it to the Counter Veron with more rebound, and calls it the Babolat with the most ball exit.

Padel Magazine was the most positive. Their test praised the comfort and the stability on off-centre hits, and they wrote that it is "as effective in attack as in defense, and lets you vary the rhythm without losing stability or comfort."

Padel.how scored it 74 out of 100 and is more reserved. They rate defense and the broad central sweet spot highly, but note that the smooth lacquered face limits spin and that a "lively rebound can lengthen fast volleys". They also say it does not reach the power ceiling of the harder Viper models at full swing.

The points of disagreement are the net and the price. Padel Magazine found no real flaw, while Dani 13 and Padel.how both flag fast volleys as the hardest shot to control. Dani 13 adds that for playability alone he would buy a Counter Veron first.

How it plays..

Our take: Kaj's summary

This is a friendlier racket than the Lamborghini name suggests. The easy depth from the back and the forgiveness on slightly off-centre contact help a developing player. The catch is at the net: the rebound that makes defense easy also sends firm volleys long, so a player still working on compact volleys will need time to adapt.

Defense

Defense is its strongest zone. At slow and medium pace the ball goes deep with a short swing, and lobs from the back glass do not ask for a big effort. At a fast pace, players who already accelerate hard need to hold back, because the ball comes out quicker than expected.

Attack

Flat smashes are where it surprises. The rebound and the long handle give more pace than a medium-feel racket usually has, and reviewers found that smashes over the fence come with less effort. The smooth face makes it harder to hold the ball down on a víbora, so spin players get less help.

Netplay

Soft blocks and slow volleys go deep with little effort. Firm volleys at speed are the weak point: the ball floats and can hit the back glass unless you meet it well in front and swing down. The handling is average, neither fast nor slow.

Our Advice for New Players

Beginners can play it, since it is not demanding from the back, but the price makes no sense at that level. A Counter Veron or another round Babolat gives the same help for a fraction of the cost.

Our Advice for Intermediate Players

Intermediate players who want easy depth and a bit of extra punch on the smash get a lot of help. Expect a period of adapting at the net, where the rebound can make volleys too long.

Competitive level

Advanced players will like the defensive output and the flat smash, but hard hitters may find it lively at the net and short of the top-end power of a Viper. Buy it for the collab, not for a step up in performance.

How It Compares

How it compares

The Babolat Counter Veron 2025 is the closest model in the Babolat line, according to Dani 13. It has a similar feel with less rebound and more control, at about a third of the price. Choose the Veron if you want the playing qualities and the BL002 if you want the exclusive build.

The Babolat x Lamborghini BL003 Blue 2026 is the next racket from the collaboration: lighter, head-heavy and faster at the net, but less forgiving on off-centre hits. The BL002 is the easier and more defensive of the two.
