Adidas Cross It Pro EDT 2025 Martita Ortega8

Conclusion

Handles quickly and keeps the ball on the face long enough to place it, which makes defence and the bandeja feel easy. It suits control players who build points; hard hitters will find the ball stays on the face when they try to flatten it out. You pay extra for the design, not for different performance.

The Cross It Pro EDT 2025 is the limited edition of Marta Ortega's Cross It Light, launched by Adidas for the Rome Major. It comes in an off-white design with her signature, the constellation of her birth and the coordinates of where she was born, plus a signed case. Under the paint it is the same racket as the regular 2025 Cross It Light: a round, light frame with a medium balance, a soft core and a strongly moulded rough face for spin. Nothing changes on court. The extra money goes on the design and the collector value, so buy it for Ortega, not for more performance.

What the Reviewers Say

What the reviewers say

The reviewers agree on the character: light, easy to handle and control-first, with not much free power.

Zona de Pádel filmed both 2025 Adidas limited editions and confirmed the Cross It EDT keeps the regular model's specs. They call it far softer than Galán's Metalbone, and say it is "not the racket for burning balls or putting them all out by three", but that it handles very well and adds manoeuvrability on the volley.

In their full on-court test of the 2025 Cross It Light, the same channel liked it in defence and found the ball easy to direct: "You don't have to use a lot of force to direct the ball." They add one catch: with spin the ball comes out well, but hit flat it tends to stay trapped.

Padel Market reaches the same conclusion from a more critical angle. They call it more of a control racket than a power racket, praise its overhead game and say the bandeja and víbora give you depth with little effort. On hard volleys and flat smashes they felt "the ball stays a lot", so you have to finish the stroke yourself.

The written spec sheet from Padelreference lines up: control 9, manoeuvrability 8, comfort 8, power 7 out of 10.

How it plays..

Our take: Kaj's summary

This is an easy racket to play well with. It moves quickly, feels soft and gives you time to place the ball, and that helps a lot in defence and at the net. The trade-off is ball output. When you are late or hit flat, it does not bail you out with free power, so an improving player needs a full swing and some spin to get depth.

Defense

This is where the racket feels most at home. The round head, light weight and soft response make blocks, lobs and wall exits calm and controlled. Reviewers mention a feeling of security on contact, and the ball goes where you aim it.

Attack

It attacks through spin and placement, not raw pace. The rough moulded face grips the ball well for kick smashes and víboras, but flat power shots lose speed because the soft face holds the ball. Getting the ball out by three is possible with good technique, but the racket does not do the work for you.

Netplay

The light weight and Dynamic Air Flow channels make it very fast at the net, and the bandeja is one of its best shots. Soft volleys and drops are precise. If you like to punch volleys deep and hard, the ball can stay on the face longer than you want.

Our Advice for New Players

The handling and soft feel are friendly, but the price makes little sense for a first racket. The standard Cross It Light or the Team Light gives beginners the same kind of feel for much less.

Our Advice for Intermediate Players

A good match for intermediates who play a control game and want a racket that helps in defence and at the net. Expect to work for depth on flat shots.

Competitive level

Advanced control players and right-side point builders will enjoy its precision and speed. Players who finish points with flat power will want something firmer, such as the Metalbone.
