During the transition to the net, keep the preparation short to utilize body weight rather than arm strength. A long preparation while moving forward often leads to excessive force and a forced stop at contact. If the ball arrives low, lower the racket head to execute a chiquita or a lob depending on the opponent's position. Maintaining a compact preparation allows for the flexibility to choose between these two options at the last second, preventing the opponent from anticipating the shot.

Avoid the temptation to force winners or play at the limit during practice. Prioritize consistency and ball control over hitting hard. When an easy ball arrives, focus on applying pressure rather than seeking a direct point. By keeping the rally alive and forcing the opponent to work, the likelihood of an unforced error from them increases significantly. True improvement comes from mastering the ability to dominate opponents of varying levels without missing, rather than attempting shots that exceed current skill levels.
