The vibora functions as an offensive shot intended to win the point, unlike the bandeja which maintains the net position. A successful vibora forces the ball to rebound off the back wall and move toward the side wall. To reduce risk, the player must avoid excessive power and erratic wrist movement. The coach introduces a drill where the player holds the racket behind the neck before contact. This pause ensures the racket is prepared early and prevents the player from swinging too late or using too much force.

Proper footwork is essential for reaching the ball in time. The player should move backward in one jump rather than taking multiple small steps. The ball must always be taken to the side of the playing shoulder, never directly in front of the body or from a high lob. When the ball is in the correct position, the player uses the wrist to generate spin and direction. The goal is to use only the amount of power necessary to win the point, rather than hitting at full capacity. This lesson suits players who struggle with consistency and over-hitting their overheads.
