Vibora technique: body rotation and side spin
Padel Drive
Vibora · Intermediate, High Intermediate, Advanced, High Advanced
You need to rotate your chest more and wait for the ball to drop to eye level before you strike it. By hitting the ball further back and away from your body, you generate more side spin and keep the trajectory low.
The vibora requires significant body rotation to generate depth and minimize rebound off the glass. Players often hit the ball too close to the body or too far in front, which causes the shot to lose its intended trajectory. By rotating the chest and pointing both feet toward the corner, the player creates the necessary space to strike the ball further back. This orientation allows for a more controlled swing that produces the desired side spin.
Waiting for the ball to drop to eye level is vital for consistency. Striking the ball at this lower height makes it easier to drive it forward rather than upward, which keeps the ball low after it hits the glass. Preparing the racket immediately upon identifying the lob helps ensure the player reaches the optimal point of impact in time. These adjustments are particularly effective for players who find their vibora rebounding too high and lacking the penetration needed to pressure opponents.

The Key to Take Your Vibora From Average to Elite
Description
In this video we go to Derby to visit the brand new S3 Sports Society club. Our friend Vejay asked me to take a look at his vibora — he was getting too much rebound and not enough depth. We took a look at his shot together, analyzed what was going on, and after a few small adjustments, the improvement was huge. His vibora now has much less rebound and a lot more length and consistency. Big thanks to S3 Sports Society & Derby for letting us use the court, and to Vejay, the new coach at the club. That day we were also running a launch event where players could test our rackets — and the feedback was amazing. If you want to improve your own vibora, this video will help you spot what’s going wrong and how to fix it.
