High-level match play relies on clear tactical choices and court movement. When an opponent occupies the middle of the court, direct the next ball into the open space or corner. After hitting a chiquita, move forward in the same direction to reduce the available angles for the opponent's return.

Lob placement targets the left shoulder of a right-side player to force a weaker return. Avoid hitting a lob to the left shoulder of a left-side player, as this often allows them to execute a bandeja toward the fence. Proper positioning is required before any smash attempt. If time is limited or the court is slow, opt for a controlled shot rather than a forced smash. Anticipate the opponent's movement to intercept balls before they can take control of the net position.
