Net positioning and tactical shot selection

Attacking at the net requires patience and disciplined shot selection. Being in the attacking zone allows for aggressive play, but players must prioritize neutral shots when under pressure to maintain their position. The goal is to wait for the right opportunity before attempting to win the point. Movement at the net follows a synchronized pattern, similar to windshield wipers, where both players shift together based on the ball trajectory. When one player moves back to retrieve a lob, the partner must hold their position at the net to cover the open space, preventing the opponents from having multiple targets.

For aerial shots like the bandeja or vibora, cross-court placement is the standard. Directing the ball toward the back glass or side wall forces the opponent to deal with complex bounces or double walls. High-level players can also target the fence to create difficult angles. After moving an opponent to the corner with an aerial shot, the subsequent volley should target the middle or the opponent's feet. Maintain a consistent intensity level of six or seven out of ten, only increasing to eight or nine when a clear scoring opportunity arises. Focus on volume of play, simplicity, and team coordination to build a solid attacking game.
