Net position: closing the gap after a strong volley

Moving forward to close the net position after a strong volley forces an easier finish. A deep, aggressive volley often leaves the opponent struggling, making it difficult for them to execute a quality lob. Stepping in allows for an immediate put-away or a simple smash to end the point.

Maintaining a slightly deeper position near the net is only necessary when the opponent has the ability to lob effectively. When the opponent is under pressure and cannot lob, staying back is unnecessary. Moving forward removes the space they need to recover and keeps the pressure on their defensive return.
