Forehand partner activation: tactics and positioning

Active partners require intentional court positioning to draw the ball toward their side. When the opponents avoid a player, that player must create temptation by leaving the line open. This sacrifice invites the opponents to play into the open space, allowing the partner to intercept the ball.

Strategic shot selection forces the opponents to play toward the inactive partner. Aiming at the opponent's right leg restricts their options and encourages cross-court returns. When the ball moves to the center, both players must shift to protect the middle. Taking these calculated risks is the only way to get involved in the rally when the opponents ignore your side of the court.
