Consistency relies on the rule of 10, where the difficulty of the incoming ball plus the difficulty of the return must equal 10. When receiving a difficult ball, play a soft shot with a large margin for error, aiming for the center of the court rather than the lines. When receiving an easy ball, increase the speed and decrease the margin to put pressure on the opponents. Winning comes from reducing unforced errors rather than forcing winners.

Body positioning and preparation are essential for control. Keep elbows close to the body during groundstrokes and volleys to engage the torso instead of relying solely on the hand. Use the non-dominant hand to hold the throat of the racket during the preparation phase to generate tension and balance the body through rotation. In the corners, use your feet as a reference point to anticipate whether the ball hits the side glass or back glass first. Move away from the side glass if it hits the side wall first, or move toward it if it hits the back wall first. Finally, view every shot as a sequence of preparation, impact, and recovery rather than an isolated event.
