Approach shot technique and net transition

The approach shot follows a lob that forces the opponents to hit a defensive rebound or a short bandeja. The goal is to land the ball at the feet of the net player to neutralize their position. Players must cross the ball away from the opponent who played the overhead to widen the angle and create space for the transition. A split step is required before the volley to ensure balance and control. Communication is essential during this movement. The player who hits the approach must call out to their partner to follow them to the net. If the partner fails to move forward, the team leaves a gap that opponents can exploit. Moving as a team ensures the net position remains secure. If a player is forced to stretch for a difficult ball while moving in, they should play the ball down the line rather than cross court to maintain their defensive balance and recover the center. This sequence of playing a lob, identifying the short rebound, and moving forward as a unit is the primary method for stealing the net.
